Frequently asked questions
What counts as a page?
Every page of the PDF or image you upload counts as one page, including scans and photos. There's no OCR surcharge and no "premium accuracy" meter: a page is a page, and every conversion runs through the same reconciliation gate.
Do scanned statements cost more?
No. Scanned and photographed statements are billed exactly the same as digital PDFs. OCR is included in the price of the page.
What happens to unused pages?
Unused subscription pages roll over for one month, capped at one extra month's quota: so on Starter you can carry up to 400 spare pages into the next cycle. Starter Pack pages are different: they never expire at all.
What's the Starter Pack?
A one-time $4.99 purchase of 30 pages. It's not a subscription: there's nothing to cancel and nothing renews. The pages never expire, so you can buy them in April and spend them at tax time next year.
How do I cancel?
In one click from your account page, through the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops future charges; your paid access runs to the end of the period you've already paid for. No reactivation fee if you come back.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Your first subscription purchase comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Email support@statementbalance.com within 7 days of that first subscription purchase and we'll refund the charge in full, no form, no exit interview.
How many statements can I upload at once?
Bulk upload comes with every paid plan: up to 12 statements per batch on Starter, 30 on Pro, and 75 on Accountant.
What happens to my files?
They're deleted in the same step that produces your export. We never store your statements, and there's no "delete my data" button because there's nothing to delete. That promise runs as an automated test on every release.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free tier converts 3 pages per day with no account, no card, and no watermark, including full exports and the same reconciliation check paid plans get.
