A DocuClipper alternative that refuses to hand you wrong numbers

Both convert bank statements into accounting-ready files. DocuClipper says its extraction reconciles against your statement's balances; we make that check a blocking gate, keep zero data on every tier instead of retention that grows with price, and let you try it without creating an account.

How is SoFlo360 Statements different from DocuClipper?

DocuClipper's own security page describes its extraction as deterministic and rules-based ("does not hallucinate") and states that "reconciliation ties the extracted rows back to the statement's own opening and closing balances." That's a real claim from the category leader, and it's more than most competitors offer. The difference is where that check sits in the workflow. On our end, reconciliation isn't a report you can skim past — it's a gate. Every statement is summed and checked against its own printed totals automatically, and the export button stays disabled until the numbers match. If they don't, you see the exact dollar delta instead of a file that merely looks fine.

The second difference is retention. DocuClipper is SOC 2 Type II certified with AES-256 encryption — a legitimate security posture — but its published retention window grows with the plan you pay for: 30 days on Starter and Professional, 2 years on Business, 5 years on Enterprise. We keep zero data on every tier, from the free trial through Accountant. We can't leak what we never keep.

Where is DocuClipper ahead of SoFlo360 Statements?

DocuClipper is ahead on document-type breadth — it also handles invoices, receipts, checks, brokerage statements, and tax forms, while we focus on bank and card statements. It exports more formats (IIF, OFX, QFX, QIF, plus direct QuickBooks/Xero sync, on top of Excel, CSV, and QBO), offers unlimited seats on every plan, holds a SOC 2 Type II certification, and gives a 30% discount for paying annually. If your firm processes multiple document types across a team and needs a compliance certificate for a client audit, DocuClipper's paid tiers already cover that today and ours don't.

None of that is a knock against DocuClipper. It's a mature product built for firms with document variety and headcount. If that's your workflow, it's worth a look.

What happens to your file after you upload it?

We can't leak what we never keep. Your uploaded file never reaches durable storage — it lives in server memory and a temp folder only for as long as parsing takes, and the parsed result is purged on a hard 60-minute limit no matter what, sooner if you click Clear or 5 minutes after your first download. That's true on the free tier and on every paid plan, with no upgrade needed to turn it on. Our automated test suite checks that the files are actually gone at every stage, so it's a passing test on every release, not a policy promise. See the full breakdown on our security page.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel in one click from your account page — it goes through the Stripe customer portal, so there's no support ticket to file and no retention offer to click through. No reactivation fees if you come back. Unused monthly pages roll over one month instead of resetting to zero. Starter Pack pages never expire. And a page is a page — scanned statements cost the same as digital ones, no OCR surcharge.

Which should I pick?

Pick DocuClipper if you process invoices, receipts, or brokerage statements alongside bank statements, need a large team on one plan, or need a SOC 2 certificate for a client audit today. Pick SoFlo360 Statements if you want a converter that blocks bad exports instead of asking you to catch them, keeps zero data on every tier including the cheapest one, lets you try it without creating an account, and offers a $4.99 non-expiring pack for occasional use instead of forcing a subscription.
