What we extract from a KeyBank statement
A KeyBank Corporate Banking Statement keeps its summary in a box near the top: beginning balance, the Additions total, the Subtractions total, and the ending balance. Those printed figures are what the rows we read have to add up to.
Deposits sit under Additions and count as money in. Withdrawals and Paper Checks sit under Subtractions and count as money out. Paper checks print two or three to a row, so each one is split out with its check number and date; when a scan loses the number, the row is labelled simply Check. Dates print as month-day only, so we take the year from the beginning and ending balance dates.
If the PDF also contains court-filing pages or a different bank's statement, those pages are left unread. Several KeyBank accounts in one PDF are not merged: the file is refused with a note, and each account's pages need to go up as a separate file.
KeyBank's summary box gives the numbers to beat: beginning balance, the Additions total, the Subtractions total and the ending balance. Every row we read is totalled and compared with them. A statement that agrees is marked Balanced, and when it disagrees the exact amount is shown to you ahead of the download.
Exports and retention
Excel, QuickBooks CSV (3-column and 4-column), and Xero CSV, free up to 3 pages a day with no signup and no watermark. Scans, photos, and password-protected PDFs work, and your file is deleted the moment parsing completes: see our security page, or a sample export.
KeyBank statement conversion: FAQ
Does this work with KeyBank business checking statements?
Yes. The KeyBank template was built for the business checking Corporate Banking Statement layout, and it covers business checking only.
What if my KeyBank PDF has more than one account in it?
Blending accounts would mix their balances, so a KeyBank PDF holding several gets a refusal and a note. Save each account's pages as a separate file and convert them one at a time.
Can I convert a scanned KeyBank statement?
Yes, with no extra step: scanned PDFs and JPG or PNG photos are read by OCR automatically first. If a scan leaves a small gap against the printed totals, that difference is shown before you download.
Is the free tier enough for KeyBank statements?
Yes. KeyBank business statements can go to Excel, Xero CSV, or QuickBooks CSV (3-column or 4-column) on the free tier, with no signup and no watermark, up to 3 pages a day.
