What we extract from a U.S. Bank statement
A U.S. Bank business checking statement opens with an Account Summary: the beginning balance, each deposit and withdrawal category with its number of items, and the ending balance. Our U.S. Bank template reads that summary first, including the trailing minus sign U.S. Bank prints after each withdrawal total, so it knows what the transactions underneath have to add up to.
Two of the detail tables, Customer Deposits and Checks Presented Conventionally, print two transactions side by side on each line. A parser that reads straight across the page blends them into rows that make no sense. Ours splits each printed line into its two transactions, so every deposit and every check becomes its own row in your export.
Other Deposits, Card Withdrawals, and Other Withdrawals list one transaction per line with reference lines underneath, and the template keeps those lines with the right transaction. The Balance Summary of daily balances and the check-image pages are not transactions, so they stay out of your export.
The parsed rows are compared with the Account Summary, both the dollar totals between the beginning and ending balance and the number of deposits and withdrawals U.S. Bank printed, and any gap is shown before you export.
How far back U.S. Bank statements go online
U.S. Bank lets you view, print, and save up to seven years of statements online, and it keeps statement records for 7 years.
That covers a long run of PDFs for a loan file, a tax year, or a bookkeeping catch-up. Each one converts to Excel, QuickBooks CSV, or Xero CSV with its deposits and checks split into separate rows.

Exports and retention
Excel, QuickBooks CSV (3-column and 4-column), and Xero CSV, free up to 3 pages a day with no signup and no watermark. Scans, photos, and password-protected PDFs work, and your file is deleted the moment parsing completes: see our security page, or a sample export.
U.S. Bank statement conversion: FAQ
Why do U.S. Bank deposits and checks come out wrong in other converters?
Customer Deposits and Checks Presented Conventionally print two transactions on each line, side by side. Our template splits every line into its two transactions instead of reading across, so the rows and their count match what U.S. Bank printed.
What if my PDF holds more than one U.S. Bank account?
We don't merge them. A PDF with more than one Account Summary is flagged instead of converted as one statement. Split it into one statement per file, then convert each one, or several at once with bulk upload on a paid plan.
Does this work for U.S. Bank personal checking or savings statements?
The template is built around the U.S. Bank business checking layout. Other U.S. Bank statements still convert: if the template can't balance one, our general parser gets a turn, and the balance check runs either way.
Are QuickBooks and Xero exports free for U.S. Bank statements?
Yes. Excel, QuickBooks CSV (3-column and 4-column), and Xero CSV are all available on the free tier, with no signup and no watermark.
